Rafael Galiano-Eating Fear!

Another client that has been my privilege to work with is Rafael Galiano out of San Francisco.  He’s another younger realtor in both years and years  in the business.  He’s been engaging, aspiring and inspiring from the beginning when he first came on board with me – with a desire to achieve his big audacious goal of a million dollars GCI.

His first hurdle turned out to be himself.

His first challenge – his fear.

Fear around calling someone who had a Major in More. More money (think boatloads of more money), more estates, more summer houses, more boats and planes,  more acreages and horses, more lawyers, accountants and tax planners and ….. way more stuff.  I’m sure you’re getting the drift of how huge Goliath looked and how small Rafael felt.

But he did it.

Rafael stepped up and did it.

He faced his fears.

He made the call. Not once – but twice…(because, you guessed it…the realtors reality -first call – no one was home.)  Regardless -Rafael persevered.   Earned an audition.  Did the presentation.  Hit the home run. In fact it was a grand slam.   Yes, he got a deal.  Yes, he widened his sphere which has been paying off bigtime ever since but most importantly he experienced freedom in himself – from his fear.

We all can allow ourselves to be crippled or paralyzed by fear – but because Rafael faced it – head on- he is very deserving of our  Lions Award for Bravery.  He did not allow himself to be paralyzed, frozen or stuck.  He didn’t allow excuses to master his choices.  He didn’t justify his failing heart or his fear.   Bravo Rafael!

He’s moved on from this one moment- but interestingly his life circumstances over the last four tumultuous years has sent him back to the same bucket of courage to drink from because time and time again he has had to re-make the same decision- either to live with fear and anxiety or choose to face the worst and courageously make decisions- for his life, for those who are dependent on him for their livelihood, for his family, friends and clients – fearlessly.  Not naively, not blindly, seeing reality and facing it fearlessly.

Rafael did it -and continues to do it and so can we all.  That’s the message of hope that his life sounds forth!

BTW – the million dollars?  Stay tuned!
