Turning tragedy into a helping hand. Taking what you learned from this situation, that circumstance, that doctor’s bad news – and allowing it to be a leap off point. It happens sometimes. I think of the Terry Fox Run, the assortment of Cancer Runs for the Cure that occur, tv-athons to raise funds for kids touched by this, that and the other. One persons’ moment in a doctor’s office, the bad news, the immediateness of the need for surgery, the recovery, the re-evaluation of self and maybe your mortality, your why. That all lays the ground work for one kind person helping others wade through like tragedies. Kudos to you Marc Haslam. Thank you for intentionally and actively taking the time to share the detour in your life which has become a highway to help, encouragement, understanding, acceptance and hope to those who found themselves on that same road. And thank you for sharing your story with me – I am only someone who hears from the sidelines and gets a chance to applaud but I am grateful for that. Surely such acts of kindness elevate all mankind – and so thank you! May I also add – it’s a pleasure and a privilege to work with you!
