I have had the privilege of bringing on some new clients this month and realized from comments made in our initial calls that…lo and behold… they’d done some due diligence and checked me out online.
Here.
Whoa….
I hadn’t written a post in pretty much… an entire year!
A social media success story I am not. But apparently whatever they did read sparked their curiosity, maybe their interest, possibly their hope and hopefully their faith.
However with their recent comments in the top of my mind and a few spare minutes plus a recent WordPress email applauding some new update that affected this site I decided to have a look and remember what this site looks like.
So I plugged in my url.
(WordPress keeps sending me these updates which mean exactly what I have no idea… and while they call them updates my admin gal reports often she is feeling increasingly three steps behind.) I still can’t appreciate the reasons to applaud a wordpress update as it all looks pretty much as I left it and I am seeing that as a good thing.
And so I read a couple of posts that I’ve written in other times.
What others have written about me and sometimes to me, in other times.
Time jets.
It does more than fly…. it jets.
Gone in a flash – faster than a speeding bullet!
I have wonderful memories of success shared, wins celebrated, listings listed, competitions won, buyers delighted and sellers sending off ranting testimonials to their phenomenal realtors who did over above and beyond and who kindly read me the words that all echoed mine….. Job well done.
I have enjoyed reviewing some of the history here.
Enjoyed it enough to know that all my award winners from 2013 might appreciate a place they can go back to after all the applause and hand shaking at the awards ceremonies has died down to be reminded and hi fived… because they did do so good.
There were so many agents who experienced tough first quarters and second and third quarters too! There were lots of buyers this year who, shock of shocks, did not qualify to buy the property they’d just offered on. There were lots of sellers who were so sure their home was worth gazillions more. There were more than a few market places where only 10% of the market was selling at times….so 90% was not! It was not an easy year!
Of the top of my head, I can think of one fellow who I will devote a blog post too ….one of the most faithful, consistent and diligent door knockers I had all year. He has some huge hurdles to jump over both personally and professionally. Really big. His comment today…(literally today) ,,. I have been in the business for 15 years and this is my best January ever. He is inspiring and it is one heck of a story! Blog post.
There is another team in the mix of 2013 who came on with me late in 2012 specifically to get over the million in GCI income level for 2013 and more importantly to make the Top 100 international list. It looked like a leap of faith to me when I analyzed where we were starting from re income 2012 and what had been done historically before that….but it happened. Tweak tweak ….it happened. There is a story there too.
There is a good story on the horizon for one agent – no -two agents…. who can both manage more than 60 deals without any help from admins and who bit the bullet last quarter last year and got themselves help to cover their back office and surprise surprise…(after serious “coaching” on my part for an unspeakably long length of time) on Wed one is telling me he has got 20 new active buyers on his plate now – today! Systems are in place…. and he is set to go! We are about to blow his numbers through the roof!
There is a good story out of Edmonton. An agent I work with who would never track his numbers finally started – and what happened was magic.
I am quickly realizing that I am building a rant. I haven’t scratched the surface and stories are bubbling up in my mind. There are loads of great stories wanting to be told and I will give them voice. I have been privileged to work with so many great people in 2013 who might need a reminder one day when the going isn’t so good… that they can be, they have been and that they did not allow their circumstances to dictate their state of mind or rob them of their peace or their hope!
