I was introduced to a marketing tag line which has a bit of play in the real estate industry – Blunder/Wonder/ and Thunder.
Blunder:I have yet to come across a person who had wanted to be a realtor when they grew up! Most land in this industry through other doorways and once they go through their required courses and become realtors or agents -they find themselves for the first couple of years usually blundering around- trying to figure it all out. Some have a level of surprising success usually in direct proportion to the number of family, relatives and extended family that can be guilt tripped into working with such a newbie or it may directly relate to the frequency with which they agree to slash their commission to the bone ….and some not so much success at all. And so..eventually… they wonder-
Wonder: And after a certain number of days, weeks, months, or a year or two, after a variety of lengthy pauses between paychecks, late tax filings, payments that become due, go overdue and get missed, family complaints about income/hours, fumbling /bumbling through listing presentations with family/friends who dictate how they want the process to look, open house after open house weekends after weekends and nary a hint of a buyer in the lot, listings lost to other realtors, properties listing -way over market so the sellers can test the market, borrowed funds and maxed credit limits, price reduction discussions that go nowhere and expired listings that get picked up by other realtors and sell, best friends who bought with someone else, family who used the competition to sell their homes – many agents wonder if this is the right business for them.
Truth be told I rarely have had an opportunity to work with agents in these stages. These stages are usually charactertized by varying degrees of being broke!
That seems to have changed recently for me as I have begun a training/coaching program for a number of newbies in a West Coast brokerage sponsored program which has been specifically designed to ensure their newbies accomplish levels of succe$$, pro$perity, $ooner rather than later – with a minimum of blundering, uncertainty and pain in their journey towards greatness!
I am enjoying the freshness of this new training. In fact I feel a bit like Superwoman who swoops in to save the unknowing victim from the dangers that are unseen to them but are clearly on their path!
I’ve been finding it personally rewarding already!
I am really delighted to know the skills training I am bringing, the benchmarks for this or that, the analytics for this, the truth about that, my experiences that comes through years of personal experience plus the years of coaching many of the top realtors in the country (both the USA and Canada) has enabled such a wealth of tried and true to be delivered to these new babes!
I know that I would have jettisoned quickly to unheard of levels of success early on in my career had I had the kind of training these folks are getting and I am anticipating wonderful re$ult$ for them.
I am delighted to be part of this part of their real estate journey and am looking forward to hearing them Thunder or in a couple of cases – ” I am woman…hear me roar!” (Only a couple of weeks into the training and these agents seem to be getting it! The emails are already attesting to greater confidence and certainty and the re$ult$ will surely follow! )
