It's about putting the client first-

I’ve had reasons to hire freelancers for a variety of projects – and there is a difference.

I  hired one person on the basis of their obvious qualifications – the price they were prepared to do the job for and the timeline within which they could get it done.  I reviewed testimonials which were fewer than expected but didn’t have warning bells go off.  From the moment the project began the freelancer was all about “I want my money” and not about what I wanted done – at all.   Not a good experience for me – although at the end of the day the job was done adequately.

On the other hand I also hired a freelancer for a much smaller kind of project and again went through the same hiring process and found the first draft was not at all in line with what I was envisioning.  His response was “it’s not about the $$ – it’s about giving you the best possible product”.

Which experience will I repeat?  Which person will I recommend? Which person will get more business from me?  It’s a no brainer.

Led me to think – what experience am I creating for all my clients? What kind are you?
